As my main is often away from nearest AH and it's often not worth the time traveling to and fro, I email stuff to my alt and have my alt put stuff on AH, check for stuff I need, then mail back stuff and extra gold.
Yesterday at about 8 am, I sent 3 emails total, 2 to my main and 1 to my brother for his alchemy. He got the email last night but didn't check the time so he didn't know when it arrived. The second email I sent to my main was waiting when I logged my main but the first email containing a total of 88 gold and 6 stacks (120 units) of unsold Heavy Knothide Leather didn't arrive. Since I logged to my main right after I sent those 3 emails off, and stayed on for a few hours I am positive no one else could have logged in and stole my email. Since I used reply to the last email from my main and the fact 1 email arrived safely, I know it wasn't a typo or something in the TO line.
When I noticed the email was still MIA a few hours later I filed petition. The response via email (as I was off for lunch) was email can take up to 1 hour to go through. This is despite stating in the petition it had been over 3 hours. Guess the GM didn't read?
I resent a new one when I came back to WOW, and stated it has been 8 hours. Went off for dinner... same email response as above but from different GM. GRRRR
Third one was the charm as I was on when GM came to answer my petition. I explained how it had been too long. They said email system are "at your own risk" service and they can't track emails and won't help reimburse the missing items or gold.
so I've lost a total of 328g (40g per stack of Heavy Knothide Leather + 88g) and all GM can say is "sucks" The least they could do is send me a T-shirt that reads "Someone stole my email and all I got is this lousy shirt"
